We hope you're as stoked as we are to only be a few days away from Club Race #1!! After a lengthy winter break, we could not be more excited to see the new season get underway. Just as we're sure you all have been we've been keeping an eye on the weather forecast. Saturday's open practice looks to be a beautiful day with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 68°, while there appears to be some rain coming on Sunday. However, don't let this turn you away in the slightest... rain racing is great for multiple reasons, a few of which are listed below!
1. Rain is known as the great equalizer. True driving skills are brought out by rainy conditions.
2. Kart control is emphasized in the rain. A much lower-grip surface highlights a drivers ability to keep the kart under control in less-than-optimal conditions.
3. It cultivates driving skill. Driving with such low grip can only pay dividends to a driver's ability. Those who learn to be fast in the rain can be fast in any conditions.
4. IT'S FUN! What's not to enjoy about racing on a slick and slippery surface? While improving your driving ability, emphasizing kart control skills, and acting as a great equalizer, wet conditions makes driving all the more enjoyable.
Don't let the potential wet weather dampen your spirits for Club Race #1! We'll be watching the forecast closely over the next few days for any changes, but we WILL be racing rain or shine. Rain tires are available at our on-site shop. Make sure you don't miss out!
