After the moon came up on Round #8 of the OVRP Club Race Series, we are left with some epic battles for the Championship that will unfold on October 21st at Round #9…also known as The New York State Championships.
The Class Championship in 5 of the 8 classes will be decided at the final race on October 21st!
In Micro, some of the best racing we have seen, leaves Michael Costello leading Levi Tresanszki by 14 points. Brandon Washor sits in third with Ethan Goulart on the hunt to jump into the top three. Dropped races have been considered in these calculations.
In Jr. Tag, Tyler Ferris is leading with 106 points. Aidan Fox is 1 point back and Josh Green is 20 points back. Each driver has missed a race, so dropped races will not play a role in this class.
In Sr. Tag, Adam Rylance (aka the “King of Karting” and photo for this update) leads by 7 points over Conrad”ical” Krawiec. Third place is Chase Outcault, sitting 41 points back. These calculations include the required dropped race for each driver to this point.
In Tag Masters, Karl Kott is leading Scott Mandel by 3 points. The hard charging two-time race winner Kenny Ferrier sits third, only 8 points back. Dropped races do not play a factor here.
And in the Shifter Class we have a tie for the top spot between Max Greenberg and Chris Beck. May the best man win in this head to head battle.
Congratulations to the drivers who have already secured the Championship in their respective classes. Paulie Hart in Kid Kart, Nicolas Esposito in Mini Max, and Thomas Anunziatta in Mini. Battles still exist for end of year 2nd and 3rd place podium spots in these classes as well as the claim of New York State Champion!
All in all, October 21st Club Race #9 and The New York State Championships looks to be a race not to be missed! Club Champions and New York State Championships will be crowned…hope to see you there.
